Kristi Markland-Rice
Kristi Markland-Rice is a graduate of Ed
White High School and Florida Community College
at Jacksonville. She has spent the better part
of her life learning dance and dealing with
the pressure that accompanies dance and pageant
competitions.
Her competitive spirit has enabled
her to receive a ballet scholarship to the
summer program at the Joffrey School of Ballet
in New York City, tap scholarships to Henry
LeTang School of Tap in New York City and Al
Gilbert Tap School in Montreal, Canada and
she was named the best all-round dancer at
the Pensacola Junior College summer workshop.
In 1995, Kristi competed with over 800 ladies
for a spot on the first Jacksonville Jaguars
cheerleading squad “The Roar”. She also had
the opportunity to be a Celebrity Cheerleader
for the NFL Player’s Party at Super Bowl XXXI
and XXXII. Working with children is important
to Kristi, so she was thrilled to be offered
to be a cheerleading instructor at Jeff Lageman’s
football and cheerleading camp on the Navaho
Indian Reservation in New Mexico.
Being a talented dancer gave Kristi the
confidence to begin competing in
pageants. During her sophomore year
at Florida Community College, Kristi
was crowned
Miss FCCJ 1996 and had the honor of representing FCCJ at the Miss Florida
Pageant. She was also honored by
a faculty member at Florida Community
College who nominated
her for listing in the Who’s Who in America Junior Colleges. Now with
a dance studio of her own, Kristi
has had the opportunity to choreograph
the opening
number for the Miss Senior High Pageant for eight years, Production Director
for the Miss River City Jacksonville Pageant for two years and has begun
judging for National Dance Competitions.
She has been the recipient of three
prestigious
choreography awards from Dance Troupe National Competition and Professional
Dance Teacher’s Association. Kristi is now certified as a dance educator
through Dance Masters of America
Chapter 2.
Due to her personal accomplishments,
Kristi strives to instill in the dancers under her instruction the
belief that anything is possible.
Her
dance studio
motto “There are NO LIMITS to what you can do” is a true reflection
on her own life.
Amanda Markland-Domingo
Amanda
Markland-Domingo graduated from Douglas
Anderson School of the Arts with a major
in dance.
While
in high school, the National Arts Foundation
nominated Amanda to be listed in
the Who’s Who Among American High School
students. She has devoted much of her life
to excelling
in all aspects of dance. Her drive and
commitment to dance has allowed her to
grow into a very
knowledgeable instructor. She is now certified
as an instructor through Dance Masters
of America, Chapter 2. Her competitive
spirit has enabled her to receive
two ballet
Scholarships
to Joffrey School of Ballet in New York
City. Her experience in New York City has
had a lasting
effect on her individuality as a dance
teacher. Amanda has been the recipient
of various grand
champion awards and Dance Troupe’s youth
ambassador award. She not only accomplished
the art of
traditional dance, but also danced as a
competitive ballroom dancer.
Due to Amanda’s extensive background
in dance, she had the confidence
to audition
for a position with “The
Roar” of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
She made numerous public appearances and
volunteered extensively throughout the
community.
Due to her upstanding reputation
she was chosen to be a mentor to
young girls in
the community who were involved with the Jr. Roar. During Amanda’s second
season with “The Roar” she was chosen
as the calendar model for the month
of July.
She had the opportunity to travel as a celebrity cheerleader to California
with “The Roar” to perform for the San Bernandino’s baseball team the
“Stampede”. In addition, she performed
along with “The Laker Girls” from
Los Angelos while
in California. This opportunity to national exposure reinforced her sense
of self-confidence that is necessary
for all performers and teachers.
Amanda’s goal is to build self-esteem
and confidence in the young students
who attend her classes. She provides warmth and a nurturing spirit
for her young dancers encouraging
them to reach their full potential
not
only as dancers
but also as future young men and women.
Jennifer Norton
Jennifer has been dancing since the age of
four. She was a member of the Atlanta Jazz
Theater Dance Company with Dan and Company
Studios for five years. After moving to Florida,
she danced at the School of Performing Arts
for six years before moving to Tallahassee
to attend College. During high school, Jennifer
was a dancer at Walt Disney World, dancing
in the 15-year anniversary parade. She also
worked as various Disney characters and danced
in the Christmas parade during her senior year.
While attending Florida State University, Jennifer
was a member of the Flying Circus. While with
the Circus, she not only performed at FSU home
shows, but also traveled throughout Florida
performing various aerial acts. She was also
invited to perform in the Bahamas as well as
participate in the Callaway Garden’s summer
program as a camp counselor and circus performer.
After
earning a masters degree in education,
Jennifer worked in Clay County for eight
years
as a junior high language arts teacher.
During this time, she was the sponsor of
the Orange
Park Junior High dance team for three
years as well as co-director and choreographer
of
the annual musical for six years. Jennifer
has been a positive role model the three
years she has been teaching at No Limits
Dance Studio.
Her ability to communicate with every
student makes her an efficient and effective
teacher.
While her duties as a full time mom limits
the time she teaches, Jennifer remains
committed to positive dance education.
Susan Eagan
Susan has been teaching dance for over
11 years. She owned and operated her own
studio at the age of 20. She then merged
with Linda Kinlaw School of Dance to make
one of the strongest studios in Fayetteville,
North Carolina. As a member of the Fayetteville
Dance Theater, Susan has danced many different
roles in the annual production of Nutcracker
such as lead waltz, lead Russian, lead snow
and grande pas. During the summer of 2002,
she trained at Nashville Ballet where a full
scholarship was offered to her.
Among
her many accomplishments are high overall
placements
in competitions and choreography awards
from Encore and Dance Xplosion. Now she
is proud
to see her students receiving those high
overall placements. She was also the choreographer
for the Heart of Christmas show in 2004.
She helped start the annual production
of A Christmas Carol performed by Linda
Kinlaw
School of Dance. Susan as completed numerous
workshops including Finis Jhung’s teacher
workshop in New York, Dance Makers in South
Carolina and PDTA (Professional Dance Teachers
of America) in Virginia.
