Kristi Markland-Rice

Kristi Markland-Rice is a graduate of Ed White High School and Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She has spent the better part of her life learning dance and dealing with the pressure that accompanies dance and pageant competitions. Her competitive spirit has enabled her to receive a ballet scholarship to the summer program at the Joffrey School of Ballet in New York City, tap scholarships to Henry LeTang School of Tap in New York City and Al Gilbert Tap School in Montreal, Canada and she was named the best all-round dancer at the Pensacola Junior College summer workshop. In 1995, Kristi competed with over 800 ladies for a spot on the first Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleading squad “The Roar”. She also had the opportunity to be a Celebrity Cheerleader for the NFL Player’s Party at Super Bowl XXXI and XXXII. Working with children is important to Kristi, so she was thrilled to be offered to be a cheerleading instructor at Jeff Lageman’s football and cheerleading camp on the Navaho Indian Reservation in New Mexico.

Being a talented dancer gave Kristi the confidence to begin competing in pageants. During her sophomore year at Florida Community College, Kristi was crowned Miss FCCJ 1996 and had the honor of representing FCCJ at the Miss Florida Pageant. She was also honored by a faculty member at Florida Community College who nominated her for listing in the Who’s Who in America Junior Colleges. Now with a dance studio of her own, Kristi has had the opportunity to choreograph the opening number for the Miss Senior High Pageant for eight years, Production Director for the Miss River City Jacksonville Pageant for two years and has begun judging for National Dance Competitions. She has been the recipient of three prestigious choreography awards from Dance Troupe National Competition and Professional Dance Teacher’s Association. Kristi is now certified as a dance educator through Dance Masters of America Chapter 2.

Due to her personal accomplishments, Kristi strives to instill in the dancers under her instruction the belief that anything is possible. Her dance studio motto “There are NO LIMITS to what you can do” is a true reflection on her own life.

Amanda Markland-Domingo

Amanda Markland-Domingo graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts with a major in dance. While in high school, the National Arts Foundation nominated Amanda to be listed in the Who’s Who Among American High School students. She has devoted much of her life to excelling in all aspects of dance. Her drive and commitment to dance has allowed her to grow into a very knowledgeable instructor. She is now certified as an instructor through Dance Masters of America, Chapter 2. Her competitive spirit has enabled her to receive two ballet Scholarships to Joffrey School of Ballet in New York City. Her experience in New York City has had a lasting effect on her individuality as a dance teacher. Amanda has been the recipient of various grand champion awards and Dance Troupe’s youth ambassador award. She not only accomplished the art of traditional dance, but also danced as a competitive ballroom dancer.

Due to Amanda’s extensive background in dance, she had the confidence to audition for a position with “The Roar” of the Jacksonville Jaguars. She made numerous public appearances and volunteered extensively throughout the community. Due to her upstanding reputation she was chosen to be a mentor to young girls in the community who were involved with the Jr. Roar. During Amanda’s second season with “The Roar” she was chosen as the calendar model for the month of July. She had the opportunity to travel as a celebrity cheerleader to California with “The Roar” to perform for the San Bernandino’s baseball team the “Stampede”. In addition, she performed along with “The Laker Girls” from Los Angelos while in California. This opportunity to national exposure reinforced her sense of self-confidence that is necessary for all performers and teachers.

Amanda’s goal is to build self-esteem and confidence in the young students who attend her classes. She provides warmth and a nurturing spirit for her young dancers encouraging them to reach their full potential not only as dancers but also as future young men and women.
