NLD Competition Team

The No Limits Dance Competition Team is an award winning competitive dance team. Dancers who are interested in being a member of this team and who want more performance opportunities are encouraged to audition in May. Dancers typically compete in 4 regional (local) competitions, 1 national competition (non-local), and attend one dance workshop and perform at events in the Jacksonville/Orange Park area when available.

Commitment and Requirements

Being a member of the competition team is a big commitment on both the part of the dancer and the parent. Parents have the opportunity to fundraise to cover or offset the cost of costumes and competition fees, attend meetings and participate in competitions.

At this time, NLD competition teams are based on age and ability. Please feel free to contact Mandy Domingo for further information and to let her know if you are interested in preparing your child for the competition team.

Team Members must:

•  Attend classes in each dance discipline
•  Attend summer dance program
•  Attend any required workshops and/or competitions
•  Attend company rehearsals on Fridays (occasional rehearsal on Saturday/Sunday as needed)
•  Keep studio tuition up-to-date
•  Make timely payments to company account to ensure money is available for competition, workshops, costumes. etc.
•  Purchase a company warm-up and dance bag

There is a minimal monthly cost for group rehearsals included with the monthly tuition fee to the studio.  Solo's, duet/trios incur additional fees for choreography and rehearsals and this is paid directly to the choreographer of the piece.

Why Choose Competitive Dance?
Even if your dancer is not looking to dance professionally, the benefits of competitive dance are endless. Competitive dance teaches children how to be outgoing, builds self-confidence, and teaches a sense of teamwork. It also encourages dancers to push past their comfort zone and challenges themselves to soar to new heights.

The friendships that our dancers and our dance parents make with each other is also an important reason why competitive dance is a wonderful addition to your child's dance education. Many times the dancers and parents end up developing relationships that are more like a family than just teammates.
