No Limits Dance Competition Team

The No Limits Dance Competition Team is an award-winning group of dedicated and passionate dancers who represent the studio at both local and national levels. Designed for dancers seeking additional performance opportunities, this elite team trains to compete in four regional competitions and one national competition each season. Team members also attend at least one dance workshop and perform at select community events in the Jacksonville and Orange Park areas.

Auditions are held each May, and dancers with strong commitment, talent, and a love for the stage are encouraged to try out. Joining the team offers a chance to grow as a performer, work with top choreographers, and build lifelong friendships through a shared love of dance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What the the Commitments?

Joining the No Limits Dance Competition Team is a rewarding commitment for both dancers and their families.

Team membership requires dedication, time, and teamwork. Parents play an important role in supporting their dancer’s journey, including participating in meetings, attending competitions, and taking advantage of fundraising opportunities to help offset the cost of costumes and competition fees.

Currently, placement on the NLD competition team is determined by both age and ability. If you would like more information or are interested in preparing your child to audition, please contact Mandy Domingo directly. She will be happy to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

What are the requirements?

To maintain good standing on the No Limits Dance Competition Team, all members must meet the following expectations:

  • Enroll in All Required Disciplines: Dancers must consistently attend technique classes in each assigned dance style.

  • Participate in the Summer Dance Program: Summer training is mandatory to maintain and build skills.

  • Attend Required Events: This includes all scheduled workshops, competitions, and conventions.

  • Commit to Rehearsals: Weekly company rehearsals are held on Fridays. Occasional Saturday or Sunday rehearsals may be scheduled as needed.

  • Stay Current on Tuition: Studio tuition must be kept up to date throughout the season.

  • Maintain Company Account Payments: All payments for competitions, workshops, and costumes must be made on time to avoid delays in registration or ordering.

  • Purchase Required Team Gear: Each team member must have the official company warm-up and dance bag.

Why choose competitive dance?

Competitive dance offers so much more than trophies and stage time—it’s an experience that helps dancers grow both personally and artistically. Even if your child doesn’t plan to pursue dance professionally, the life skills gained through competition are invaluable.

Through competitive dance, students learn confidence, resilience, and how to express themselves in front of an audience. It fosters discipline, pushes dancers beyond their comfort zones, and cultivates a strong sense of teamwork and dedication.

One of the most meaningful aspects of being on a competitive team is the community it creates. The friendships formed—both among dancers and parents—often grow into lasting bonds that feel more like family than teammates. For many, the support, encouragement, and shared experiences become one of the most cherished parts of their dance journey.

What are the costs?

Being part of the No Limits Dance Competition Team is both a rewarding and enriching experience, and we strive to keep it accessible while maintaining the highest quality training and opportunities.

Recreational classes are not held on Fridays, that time and studio space is reserved exclusively for company use. To support this dedicated use, a monthly studio rental fee is applied to each company member. This fee is already included in your regular studio tuition.

Dancers who choose to participate in solo, duet, or trio routines will incur additional costs for choreography and rehearsals, which are paid directly to the choreographer of the piece.

Additional expenses throughout the season may include:

  • Regional Competitions: Typically 4 local competitions per season with entry fees per routine.

  • National Competition: One non-local national competition requiring travel and additional costs for registration, accommodations, and travel.

  • Costumes: Each competition routine requires a costume, and costs may vary depending on the number of routines a dancer is in.

  • Workshops/Conventions: Dancers may attend dance conventions or workshops annually to broaden their training.

  • Team Jacket & Dance Backpack: All team members are required to purchase an official team jacket and a dance backpack for performances and competitions.

Monthly Rehearsal Fees: Generally, there is a $5  monthly charge per member in a group dance each time the group rehearses within a given month.

We understand that competitive dance is a financial commitment, which is why we offer fundraising opportunities throughout the season to help offset costs. We also try to hold regular parent meetings to ensure families stay informed and prepared for all upcoming events and expenses.
